Georgian Cooking

The House had the pleasure of hosting food historians Marc Meltonville and Robert Hoare, who brought Handel’s kitchen to life with authentic 18th-century recipes from Hannah Glasse's 1747 cookbook. The culinary experience featured dishes such as chicken curry, syllabub, claret jelly, orange cheesecake, potato cake, beef olives, parmesan omelette, and omelette roulade, all prepared using period-appropriate equipment. Visitors were captivated by the event, many returning multiple times to take in the sights and scents of Georgian cooking.
